Recreational activities are limited in these areas, with anchoring not permitted in some cases and requiring authorisation in others.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Apart from protected areas and nature reserves, <strong>the Balearic Islands currently have 5 areas listed as World Heritage Sites by UNESCO.<\/strong> A title that values the great conservation, importance, and beauty of places, monuments, traditions&#8230; all over the world. <\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0These five areas are spread over the different islands.\u00a0 \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>In Mallorca, the Tramontana mountain range runs through the north-eastern part of the island.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">In its more than 90 km of extension you can find some of the most charming villages of the island, beaches with crystalline waters, viewpoints, hiking trails&#8230;\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Menorca, also known as the Green Island, has held the title of <strong>Reversa de la Biosfera<\/strong> since 1993. A title that has become a brand identity to recognise the sustainability and preservation of natural spaces over the years.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>In addition, last September the <strong>archaeological sites of the Talayots<\/strong>, located in different parts of the island of Menorca, were declared a World Heritage Site.<\/p>\n<p>With this new incorporation of Menorca&#8217;s megalithic monuments, <strong>Spain now has 50 World Heritage Sites<\/strong>, making it the fourth country in the world with the most sites protected by UNESCO.<\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The <strong>old town of Ibiza Town, Dalt Vila<\/strong>, which offers a breathtaking view from the sea, is also recognised as a World Heritage Site. This plant is one of the longest-living on the planet and is responsible for the excellent quality of the Balearic Islands&#8217; water and its crystalline blue colour. It also contributes to the oxygenation of the marine ecosystem and provides a home and food for hundreds of species of marine animals and plants. <\/span><span
