The “study trips” are not included in the educational plan for dual training. However, the interest and eagerness of the nautical dual training students at Centre s’Algar to see the international scope of the nautical sector have made it possible for 17 out of the 88 participants in the nautical dual courses to visit Boot D\u00fcsseldorf, which takes place from January 20 to 28.<\/p>\n
The idea, as explained Antoni C\u00e0naves, professor of the level 1 certificate in Auxiliary Operations, arose during a class when discussing the Palma International Boat Show, sparking the students’ interest in learning more about these events.<\/p>\n
After presenting the initiative to Balearic Marine Cluster, the driving force behind the nautical professional certificates<\/strong> and a participant alongside Consell de Mallorca at the German fair, tickets for the 17 students and 3 teachers were requested. These were obtained thanks to the support of Consell de Mallorca, Marina Marbella Balear, and Ventura Yachts.<\/strong><\/p>\n Over two days, the students visited the more than 15 pavilions that make up the fair, expanding their knowledge of the industry in which many of them are already working thanks to the dual training courses.<\/p>\n These courses are part of the SOIB “Dual Training for Strategic Sectors” call, in which Balearic Marine Cluster has participated for the third consecutive year, presenting three level 1 and 2<\/strong> certificates in painting, fiber and composites, and auxiliary operations, which include sailmaking, rigging, mechanics, and electronics.<\/p>\n This call enables the provision of vocational certificates that combine training and paid work in companie<\/strong>s belonging to sectors classified as strategic.<\/p>\n A type of training that is increasingly popular and allows students to learn outside the classroom.<\/p>\n “As a teacher, what fills me with satisfaction the most is observing how young people from conventional education, often neglected by the education system, can take advantage of job opportunities when they are motivated differently.
