Balearic Marine Cluster, represented by Antonio Zaforteza, CEO of Ocibar, took part in the international panel on how to create sustainable superyacht destinations.
As part of the Monaco Yacht Show, the roundtable “How to create a sustainable superyacht destination?” took place, an event organized by Superyacht Times, a leading international media outlet in the superyacht industry.
The session, moderated by writer Enrico Chhibber, brought together prominent international leaders to discuss how the most attractive yachting destinations are working to secure their future in harmony with the environment. Among the speakers were Mohammed Abdullah Al Mulla, CEO of Old Doha Port; a representative of the Bahamas Ministry of Tourism, Investments & Aviation; and Antonio Zaforteza, representing the Balearic Marine Cluster.
During his intervention, Zaforteza stressed the need to integrate innovation and sustainability in the management of marinas and yachting destinations as a way to maintain the Mediterranean’s competitiveness and reinforce its positioning as a superyacht destination of reference. He also highlighted the work of Balearic Marine Cluster in training specialized professionals, as well as its efforts to raise awareness about responsible anchoring to protect Posidonia seagrass, driving concrete measures to preserve this essential Mediterranean ecosystem.
The participation of Balearic Marine Cluster in a forum of this level strengthens the role of the Balearic nautical sector in the international debate on sustainability, innovation, and the future of yachting, while underlining the importance of cooperation to consolidate the Mediterranean as a strategic hub for the superyacht industry.
Balearic Marine Cluster wishes to thank Superyacht Times for the organization, Monaco Yacht Show for providing this unique platform, and all the speakers for sharing their visions on the sustainable future of the industry.
