The Port Authority of the Balearic Islands (APB) yesterday hosted the session “Employers’ Association and Cluster: Strategic Entities for Balearic Yachting”, organised by the Balearic Association of Nautical Companies (AENIB), the National Association of Nautical Companies (ANEN) and Balearic Marine Cluster, with the collaboration of Ports de Balears.
The event brought together more than one hundred representatives from companies and institutions, underlining the strategic role of the sector in economic diversification and in strengthening the international positioning of the islands.

“The yachting sector is strategic for the Islands and plays a leading role in diversifying our economy beyond tourism,” highlighted Juan Manuel Lafuente, Minister of the Sea and the Water Cycle.
A unified voice for the sector
The session highlighted the need to move forward with a cohesive and representative voice, shaping a roadmap based on cooperation between associations and clusters, strengthening dialogue with institutions, and promoting sustainability, innovation and talent as the pillars for the future.
In this regard, Balearic Marine Cluster reaffirmed its role as a platform for business cooperation, driving collective projects and creating meeting points that enhance the sector’s competitiveness and international projection.
Commitment to global competitiveness
The programme included two round tables with the participation of leading companies in shipyards, refit, charter, training and port services, who shared experiences and strategic priorities.
The day concluded with a networking space, which demonstrated the commitment of the Balearic yachting sector to working together to face the challenges of global competitiveness with unity and sectoral rigour.
