Last Tuesday, Balearic Marine Cluster attended the official opening of IGY Ibiza Marina, the new facility by the IGY Marinas group in the Balearic Islands. This opening marks the beginning of a strategic collaboration that strengthens the archipelago’s position as a key nautical hub in the Mediterranean.

Pedro Suasi, General Manager, and Guillermo García, President of Balearic Marine Cluster, represented the cluster at the event, supporting one of the world’s leading marina groups as they establish a presence in Ibiza. During the event, they had the opportunity to exchange views with José Luis Almazán Palomino, CEO of Ocean Capital Partners, and Sasha Romashova, Corporate Commercial Manager at IGY, as well as with institutional representatives such as the Balearic Minister of the Sea, the Balearic Port Authority, and the Vice President of AENIB, Ramon Van der Hooft.

“Our goal as a cluster is clear: to support IGY in the management and development of this new marina, helping them reach the highest standards of excellence in Ibiza through collaboration, sector expertise and synergies with our member companies,” said Guillermo García.

At Balearic Marine Cluster, we work to ensure that strategic marinas such as IGY Ibiza Marina find a space for collaboration, innovation, and growth within the Balearic nautical ecosystem. This support is structured through our sectoral working commissions, where member companies actively participate in addressing shared challenges and opportunities.

Among these commissions, we highlight:

  • Sustainability, focused on driving projects related to energy transition, responsible water management, circular economy, and environmental solutions for ports and marinas.
  • Talent, dedicated to training, attracting, and retaining qualified professionals for the nautical sector, particularly in key areas such as port services, maintenance, refit, and digitalisation.
  • Internationalisation and Promotion, aimed at generating visibility and business opportunities in strategic markets.
  • Innovation and Digitalisation, which works to introduce new technologies for port management, operational efficiency, and customer experience improvement.

The addition of IGY as a new member of the cluster represents an opportunity to foster new synergies between international operators and local companies, consolidating a growth model based on quality, sector professionalisation, and long-term sustainability.

From Balearic Marine Cluster, we welcome this new chapter for IGY in the Balearic Islands and reaffirm our commitment to supporting a sustainable, competitive, and globally connected nautical industry in the archipelago.
