This specialty joins the dual training programme in the Balearic Islands, offering students key preparation to access a growing sector

The new Rigging and Sails course begins in collaboration with the S’Algar school, a specialty that reinforces Balearic Marine Cluster’s commitment to promoting training and employability in the nautical sector of the Balearic Islands. The programme provides students with specialised preparation in a key trade, combining theory and practical experience in leading companies in the rigging, sails and marine upholstery sector.

With this new edition, the Cluster expands its dual training offer, which already includes courses in painting, mechanics and electronics, fibre and carpentry, and which currently has 95 students in training and more than 300 people trained since its inception.

The launch of this edition was attended by the manager of Balearic Marine Cluster and companies such as The Rigging Point and Revival, who joined the students on their first day of training.

The 25 participants now embark on a key stage in which they will be trained in a highly specialised trade, essential for the production, maintenance and repair of sails and rigging for yachts and superyachts. With this preparation, students acquire the necessary tools to develop a professional career in a sector that increasingly demands qualified profiles.

This course reinforces Balearic Marine Cluster’s mission to promote dual training, secure the next generation of professionals and consolidate the Balearic nautical industry as a strategic driver of employment and economic growth.
