ENERGY COMMUNITIES IN MARINAS IN THE BALEARIC ISLANDS
PROJECT INFORMATION:
Balearic Marine Cluster is launching a study to promote the creation of energy communities in the Balearic Islands’ marinas, to improve their competitiveness and sustainability, while at the same time lowering the cost of energy and generating a positive impact on the community.
OBJECTIVES:
- Improve the competitiveness and sustainability of the Marina and the surrounding area.
- Reduce energy costs.
- Move towards an energy generation, distribution and consumption model that is 100% clean and zero km.
- Increase independence and develop our own energy model.
- Promote the economy and revitalize the local fabric.
METHODOLOGY:
The initiative is based on the installation of solar panels at different locations in and around the marina:
- Solar panels on buildings and locations in the marina/harbour.
- Solar panels on boats (R+D+I character).
BENEFICIARIES:
- Balearic Island Marianas.
- Local community.
