STRATEGIC STUDY FOR ATTRACTING MAJOR REPAIR AND MAINTENANCE PROJECTS IN PALMA

PROJECT INFORMATION:

Balearic Marine Cluster launches a sectorial study focused on determining the weaknesses, threats, strengths and opportunities of the ship repair and maintenance sector.

The main objective of the study is to establish a line of reference to position Palma as a centre of reference at an international level in carrying out repair and maintenance projects for large yachts.

OBJECTIVES:

  • To analyse the current situation of the ship repair and maintenance sector in Palma.
  • To identify points for improvement and opportunities to position Palma as an international nautical hub.
  • To define a line of action to promote the sector.

METHODOLOGY:

The project consists of 6 phases:

  1. Selecting and defining the interest groups and their components for carrying out the study.
  2. Conducting personal interviews with the different interest groups.
  3. Sending an online interview to Naval Repair and Maintenance companies in Palma de Mallorca.
  4. Drafting of the aggregate report and drawing of conclusions.
  5. Presentation of the conclusions of the report to each group of experts.
  6. Drafting of conclusions report agreed with each group.

  • People with experience in management positions.
  • People with experience in operations and project management departments.
  • People with experience in commercial management and budget writing.
  • Clients who have carried out projects in other repair destinations.
  • People from outside Palma with certain influence in the sector.

  • Nautical business fabric of the Balearic Islands.
  • The city of Palma as a whole.
