The Balearic Marine Cluster (BMC) continues its commitment to training in the nautical sector and does so with the help of the S’Algar Training Centre, which will opt for the new SOIB call for Alternating Training in strategic sectors for the period 2024-2026.
With this call, which includes as an important novelty that candidates of any age can participate, it is intended to continue offering Professional Certificates in various subjects such as nautical carpentry, nautical painting, composites and fibre and auxiliary operations (mechanics, electronics, sailmaking and rigging).
Pedro Suasi, manager of BMC, has indicated that “at Balearic Marine Cluster we are aware that one of the main challenges faced by companies in the nautical sector is the shortage of qualified personnel. Therefore, one of our objectives as a Cluster is to find a solution to this problem, while working to bring closer and disseminate the job opportunities that the sector offers to young people on our islands”.
“Balearic Marine Cluster works in collaboration with various institutions, organisations and companies to be able to provide coverage to all nautical sectors and thanks to the training courses we promote, workers arrive at companies better prepared,” he added.
Objective: Expand to 6 certificates
Balearic Marine Cluster plans to expand its training proposal to 6 certificates covering all nautical areas of the Catalogue’s Transport and Vehicle Maintenance family.
Thus, it is intended to continue with the fourth edition of the Professional Certificate level 2 of painting and the third edition of the Professional Certificate level 2 of nautical carpentry. In addition, it is intended to promote the Professional Certificate level 2 of fibre and composites and the Professional Certificate level 1 of auxiliary maintenance operations with a second edition. The two new Certificates would be focused on Electricity and Electronics and on Mechanics and Systems.
It should be noted that if a company wants to participate in the Balearic Marine Cluster Dual Training programme, it will receive 100% of the salary costs derived from the minimum interprofessional salary (SMI) and in proportion to the working hours of the students/workers and up to a 25% increase if the Collective Agreement of the company is higher, in level 2 certificates, and up to a 10% increase in level 1 certificates.
In addition, the subsidy would cover 100% of the costs derived from social security and a remuneration of €60 per month will be made per student hired as tutoring during the internship in the company.
Furthermore, the commitment of the Balearic Marine Cluster with the students is that a 12-month employment contract can be established during the training period and in the company that has been selected. In addition, the worker will receive financial remuneration, both during the training period and during the work period in the company, in proportion to the effective working day. Finally, you will receive certification of your professional skills through a Professional Certificate valid throughout the national territory.
