The Cluster, through its Balearic Marine Hub platform, provides comprehensive information about Ports IB, from the locations of directly managed ports to details on mooring buoys and best practices at sea.
As of September, Balearic Marine Cluster (BMC), through its digital platform Balearic Marine Hub, will offer all the information about Ports IB, aiming to highlight its infrastructure and services to the nautical community. BMC and Ports IB have established this collaboration to promote the nautical industry and position the Balearic Islands as a leading international destination, providing users with the most useful and up-to-date information.
Balearic Marine Hub’s website now includes all relevant information about Ports IB, from details on directly managed ports to information about mooring fields, boat ramps, and best practices at sea.
According to Pedro Suasi, BMC’s manager, “This joint project has a dual objective: on the one hand, to provide users with accurate and updated information from one of the largest nautical institutions in the Balearic Islands, and on the other hand, to enhance the visibility of the infrastructure and services that Ports IB offers to users, whether they are just passing through or seeking permanent moorings. Our goal is to give visibility to ensure the Balearic Islands continue to be a leading nautical destination in the Mediterranean—a unique, powerful destination that offers quality.”
Kiko Villalonga, Ports IB’s manager, added: “This collaboration is an important step in promoting our port infrastructure internationally. We want sailors and nautical users to have access to updated, quality information, enhancing their experience at our facilities and promoting the responsible use of maritime resources in the Balearic Islands.”
Balearic Marine Hub has uploaded all directly managed ports under Ports IB to its platform. Specifically, this includes 10 ports in Mallorca, 2 in Menorca, and 1 in Ibiza. All directly managed ports appear in the section for Premium Marinas, Ports, and Yacht Clubs, listed alphabetically, and include the Ports IB logo, an image of the port, and a link directly to the port’s section on the Ports IB website. Balearic Marine Hub also features Ports IB’s campaign, “Environmental Best Practices Guide in the Ports of the Balearic Islands,” available for download, as well as Ports IB’s promotional video.
Additionally, the platform includes directly managed mooring fields by Ports IB, specifically 3 in Mallorca, 2 in Menorca, 1 in Ibiza, and 2 in Formentera. The mooring fields are displayed in their respective coves and beaches, with a link to the new reservation system on the Ports IB website. There is also a downloadable mooring field map, user contact information, a reservation manual, and the Ports IB logo.
Regarding boat ramps, Balearic Marine Hub has included all directly managed ramps by Ports IB, specifically 13 in Mallorca and 2 in Menorca. The ramps are displayed in their respective coves and beaches, with links to the Ports IB website and an explanatory text on how to use them.
