A tour of Palma’s nautical ecosystem that concluded with a meeting between the ambassador and companies from the sector

Balearic Marine Cluster welcomed the institutional visit of the Ambassador of Malta to Spain, Emmanuel Mallia, in a working day aimed at showcasing the potential of the nautical sector in the Balearic Islands and exploring possible avenues for collaboration between both territories.

The agenda included visits to some of the leading companies and key reference centres of the sector in Mallorca, such as Astilleros de Mallorca and STP Shipyard Palma, where the ambassador was able to learn first-hand about the technical capabilities, specialisation and international positioning of the superyacht refit and maintenance ecosystem in the Balearic Islands.

The day concluded at Club de Mar, where Balearic Marine Cluster presented an overview of the Balearic nautical sector, highlighting its economic impact, its business network and its strategic role in the Mediterranean.

Following the presentation, a networking cocktail event was held, bringing together cluster member companies and creating a space for direct exchange between the ambassador and the main stakeholders of the sector.

This visit reinforces the international positioning of the Balearic nautical sector and opens the door to future synergies with Malta, one of the most relevant nautical hubs in the Mediterranean.
