Pedro Suasi, has attended the collective meeting of innovative Clusters with Sebastián González and has presented the roadmap of the nautical sector of the Balearic Islands in terms of innovation
The manager of the Balearic Marine Cluster, Pedro Suasi, met this week with Sebastián González, general director of Innovation of the Balearic Islands, and conveyed to him the needs and strategies that the Cluster representing the nautical sector is following in terms of innovation. During the meeting, in which the rest of the innovative clusters of the Balearic Islands also participated, Suasi pointed out that the Balearic Marine Cluster “aims to serve as an accelerator of ideas and innovation projects related to the blue economy and the nautical sector. ”.
The Cluster manager has explained to the General Director that through various work groups, the Cluster not only promotes innovation, but also works to improve the ability of companies to attract talent, clients and improve their internal processes to be more competitive. “We want the Balearic Islands to be a benchmark in the International Nautical Sector and for this, innovation is a fundamental axis to offer quality and sustainable work to a sector like the nautical sector that increasingly has more weight in the Balearic GDP. We need to go hand in hand with the institutions to continue moving forward,” Suasi pointed out.
On the other hand, he has indicated that from BMC “we want the nautical sector to be taken into account in those actions that are integrated into the intelligent regional strategy, with the aim of promoting the circular economy and innovation on our islands.” For this reason, he insisted, “cooperation between clusters is also essential in this new phase. There is a full commitment to improve regional R&D&I indicators, which for many years have been lagging behind in Spain and the EU.”
The meeting was attended by: Zara Pons Vila, PhD (Cl. Manager – BIOIB), Joan Miquel Matas Rosselló (Cl. Manager – CLIQIB), Mercé Massip (Cl. Manager – Turistec ®, and Marta Pons Nieto (Cl. Manager – Cluster of the Ecological Transition of the Balearic Islands TEIB).
