Balearic Marine Cluster, in collaboration with the new training center CIFP L’Embat and Akupalma, is organizing a training session on the treatment of lithium batteries.
This event, which will take place next Thursday, May 30th at 4:00 p.m. at the CIFP L’Embat Training Center, located at Carrer Gremi Teixidors 33, Palma (07009), is intended for professionals and companies looking to expand their knowledge on the implementation of lithium batteries in their boats and seek a deeper understanding of the subject.
The session will begin with a guided tour of the CIFP L’Embat facilities, led by Toni Amengual Aloy, Head of Studies of the center, offering attendees the opportunity to firsthand experience the new facilities and the latest technologies and resources available in the field of professional training.
Next, Pedro Barceló from the company Akupalma, a specialized company in electric accumulators (batteries) both lithium and traditional, for the nautical and photovoltaic sectors, will lead a specialized workshop on the treatment of lithium batteries.
From 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., participants will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in an informative and practical session designed to introduce basic and advanced concepts about lithium batteries, as well as explore practical examples of their application in the nautical industry.
The training will cover the following topics:
- What is a battery, types of batteries, and basic terminology.
- Lithium batteries versus lead batteries.
- Practical examples of lead to lithium migration in the nautical industry.
- Myths and realities about lithium.
